1920 - res

could potentially add colour/bolder lines to drawing to add depth and detail.
need to plan out propotions before drawing.
idea: once drawing is finished make drawing come alive
ie- when finishing drawing  bird its beak will move
speech bubble? 'moo' = nonsense?
layers of film projectors - to give the feeling of a old film

problems with after effects and my dragon frame technique:
- when adding each separate image sequence onto one sheet i had a problem with blending them togehter to look like they were on the same/ same coloured background as each image sequence looked framed due to the different oppacacitys.
i tried playing around with layers however to get to the same clear background i would have to loose detail out of the animation.

potential reasons why this happened : i altered the camera settings when taking the pictures for each image sequence therefor the lighting changed.

i think i will try out this process again instead of just writing it off completely. i know what i would do differently which will hopefully make it more effective i.e.-

  • not moving the camera when changing image sequences to avoid change of lighting and focus.
  • making sure i have a idea/ drawn up idea of what illustration will come from/out of the object as this will save time in me having to think on the spot.
  • knowing what i am drawing will also help me with composition planing of where each object will sit and how big or small i draw the illustrations. the problem with this experiment was i used to big of objects which gave me little room to draw.
  • one thing i find the more i watch this video is that having multiple image sequences changing at once is too confusing as there is not one area of focus, i feel this will also take away from the work put into each sequence and therefore the concept is not shown. i feel if i gradually add a image sequence at a time then this will allow the consumer to watch one and a time and therefore take in the idea and understand what i am trying to get across in my animation.
