printed pictures - imagination ideas

when researching into etching i came across these etchings of trees. i really like how you  can create effective detailed line work with etching which works perfectly for creating the grain and texture of trees.
thinking of how i can use trees in my etchings to show a imagination thought process.
i have tried to use a etchy drawing technique when drawing this idea to give me a idea of how it could look as a etching.
starting of with a normal tree in autumn time - minimal leaves, with some falling off in the wind.
as wind picks off more leaves fly of which turn into birds.
next frame could then show them turning into butterflys
problems
i worry that this idea may have been done before and therefore does not communicate the idea of a vivid, imagination lewis carroll had.
will it be to difficult to do several drawings with the same amount of detail.- enough time?

Benefits
feel it will make for a impressive print if the detail is done right.
think it will show a movement/process in a visually effective way.
combines lewis carrols imagination aswell as he's love for nature and how nature was one of the main things he used to get inspiration from .
