copper etching process.

i decided to experiment with the idea of repeated pattern that i have been experimented with in my visual journal, so once i sanding the plate down i etched in the key pattern. this was a lot harder than i thought, i thought it would be just like using a pen, however i found i had less control and it was easy to go off course with the etching tools, creating lines that i did not want.

considering the time i spend on preparing the plate and etching into it, i am not too impressed with the quality of the print.
however i do think this may just be because i am not happy with how i have etched the keys, because i am used to being able to add detail and like to achieve realism, which i dont think these keys show.

i decided to print onto a different paper stock, thought this piece of text i printed on does not have a link to lewis carroll, in the further i could chose one which does to create a stronger narrative.
however for this print, because the etchings are quite  fine and small, the background over powers the etchings.
