though i have used objects that relate to lewis carroll :-

key: the key in alice in wonderland to open the door to wonderland, and linking to how he can't open parts of his life he wants to go back to (childhood)

playing cards: the playing card guards in alice in wonderland book.

i want to try and make both the object and imaginative thought around it link to lewis carroll creating a stronger concept and deeper understanding of him. 

however i am worried that this will limit my imagination and defeats the object of nonsense, though i am hoping the 2 things (the object and the imagination around it) will still make up a nonsense scene.
