fir youst line of Thumbnails on development sheet – looking at gender symbols and incorporating a house to symbolise when a girl and boy get married their family ( home) is still a big part of their lives – still a support.
second-line – looking into the metamorphosis of a butterfly – representing the determination of one butterfly compared to the laziness of the other, illustrating the point in the article which talks about a Daughter who strives for the perfect man and one that settles the second-best as she knows she has to support of the family anyways.
next 2 lines started to look at using the image of the genetic structure into a illustration, using it as a ladder, with the parents at the top, the daughter in the middle, and the potential partner at the bottom. Showing have a daughter will flit between the two for the support she needs.
for these ideas I have focused my attention on the concept of genes. I have used the subject matter of jeans to give the illustrations a humorous/literal aspect.
first line of thumbnails – the concept behind the two pig illustrations where to show the idea of the daughters mum and dad still supporting their daughter with resources such as money if their daughter's partner is not doing so. (bank of mum and dad) and then develop this illustration by adding the daughter and the partner walking into the piggy bank (bank) to exaggerate the exploitation of her parents and the resources they offer.
second line of thumbnails- here I basically tried to illustrate the saying handed to on a plate- I thought this was are appropriate phrase to link to my article- picking up on the point of the daughters exploiting their parents generosity.
Third line of thumbnails- daughter and parents in the same genes/jeans, and daughters partner trying to reach for her in his own genes/jeans.
for off-line thumbnails- concentrating on the phrase' attached by the apron strings' here I am trying to show the point in the article that the parents still have a major impact on the daughters choices. I also thought this point could show how the daughter is still clinging onto her parents to exploit their generosity in their resources.
here I have tried to think of a range of ideas to fit in the landscape frame.
First line of thumbnails - concentrating on the concept of evolution, I have used the evolution and of the man idea, however I have developed this idea over the three thumbnails by showing the progression of the ape to the man, the the evolution of the man from a perfect man/bad boyfriend to the bad boyfriend. I have added think such as bunch of flowers getting progressively worse (just to a stalk) the further down the boyfriends you go, have also experimented with adding object to the last man my evolutionary time line that would symbolise but boyfriend, such as bra slipping out of his pocket can indicate he is having an affair.Third line of thumbnails- have this idea was using the word Peacock from the article. i was experimenting with using the Peacocks decrease in attractiveness as a metaphor to the decrease in boyfriends qualities overtime.
fourth line of thumbnails- really like this idea as I think it uses the frame well. the idea of the parents sat on the bride's wedding dress is showing how the parents will always be behind the daughter.
