Drawing from reference - drawings

developing same image. matt encouraged us to draw the same thing over and over again so we can compare and evaluate each technique. above i feel this has benefited my illustration as compared to the first drawing the 3rd has improved and i have combined the techniques of the 2 first drawings to produce the 3rd -(colour and line)

pencil detail drawing. here i have concentrated on capturing detail, something that i enjoy doing, however though i feel it is detailed, it is as visually interesting or different.

i feel the same about these 2 drawings- i think because i have just used one tool (pencil) (pen) the drawings are not very diverse or hold any focal point due to the whole image being in the same media using the same detailed technique for each part.

i think i prefer the sketchiness of this fish, i think it gives a impression of movement unlike the pencil drawing, adding a narrative.
