Cutting out Skyline and Embossing

though i was happy with our desing so far, i wondered weather we needed to add to our illustration to make the context of the moon in the sky more obvious, such as a skyline. i mentioned this to joe,  howeer he worried that this may over complicate the illustration and take away focus from the moon - this was true, however we diceided pose the wuestion to our peer reiew groups. can you tell we are illustrating the moon? - is this clear, or do we need to add to our illlustration to imply this?
though our group gathered this from our desing, they sugguested illustrationing extras such as crators on the moon to make it more obvious but in a suble way as to not detracrt from the moon.
adter discussion we came up with the idea of embossing a skyline silhouette into the black paper as this would be faint but recognisable therfore adding to the context. it also shows another cabablitly of the black paper thus advertising it further!.
we tested out different thicknesses of materials to see which one would work best to emboss onto the black paper, however we had to remember the material couldn't be thicker than a 2p. we decided on the card which is used to scrap off excess in the etching process as this was thick enough and did not bend easy.
i was asigned the job of cutting out the skyline from the card, this was a difficult process as it took a while for the scalpel to pierce though the card.
unfortunately because it took time and i was moving the card around to cu in different directions, i accidentally began to cut away at the negative space of the skyline (the part that was the block silhouette)

to solve this problem we had to find more of the card to fill the space of the paper we were printing onto so the shape of the skyline would be the only part on a different surface level and there would emboss.

we took it through the printing press onto the black paper several times until we were happy with our embossed paper.
