first attempt at interior page.

illustrating page from Chapter 8- The Queens Croquet Ground, where alice has to use a flamingo as a stick/bat and a hedgehog as a ball.

i tried to use the loose watercolour in this illustration to create the shape of the characters, however the watercolour crinkled the paper leaving lines so the colour does not look smooth. i have tried to add detail of the characters (alice especially) using photoshop, i really don't like the effect this gives, the two techniques are to contrasting and the illustration looks odd as a whole. 

adding the detail by hand. i prefer the control i had adding the detail however when scanning the illustration in, the colour pencil looks to shape and does not look nice.
