Screen printing process

after exposing my print onto the frame and washing the remaining emulsion away, some lines (the thin lines of the drawing) were quite faint, the technician told me this may mean when prating, the ink might not come through. in future i  need to remember that the thicker the line the better print, screen print is not necessarily the best printing technique for delicate drawings.

when choosing colours, i wanted to emphasise my theme of confused/sense of identity that Carroll struggled with most of he's life- so i thought a mixture of many colours would represent the many different personality/life traits he had/struggled to have. the technician suggested a marbling technique where you add the paint in blobs all over the screen.
he showed me that it is best to start printing straight away after doing a impression print (a print  you can use to align post prints) as the mixture of colours will be at there most prominent and most effective.
impression print.
i really like difference of colours in this print i think it makes a bold and different print. i really like the effect of marbling as no one print will look the same.

i decided to stop printing after this print as as i expected, the colours mixed to much and created a browny colour instead of the bold vibrant colours that were present in the first prints.
