Study
task for 20th
October:
Prepare
a set of cut out simple motifs: boats / birds in different shapes of flight /
hammer and nail cut outs, hands in different shapes of holding a simple object…
These
should be generated from your visual journal research. If you use a lightbox, you can include opacity and colour in your papers. Anything thick,
like card or dark paper will create silhouette. Photocopies work very well..
Bring
these in the the workshops rotation, week beginning 20th
October
Have
a look at this for reference: http://www.gifparanoia.org
And
watch Valerie Pirson’s film
“Pistache”,
before you begin.
Study
task for 4th November
Draw
a minimum of 48-60 frames of animation in pencil (coloured or graphite) and bring them in on 4th November. Use the imagery generated in
your visual journals and explore a loop, metamorphosis,
off-screen space and a change in scale. Refer to the guidelines for drawn animation in
this presentation before you start
Keep
this simple: lines, shapes, simple movement, simple motifs - NO LEGS!
