again using different types of line/different drawing tools, we were asked to draw just the outline another motif.
we were then asked to make all the motifs into outlines and create compositions with them.
trying out composition in sketchbook using different type of line for each:
final compositions :
bringing in collage:
Eleanor then wanted us to think about using different textures to collage the motifs, 2 being positive shapes and one being negative. she told us to think about the objects themselves and think about what type of texture or cut would best describe/suit the motif.
for the teddy bear i decided to tear the shape out as i thought this would represent the fluffiness of the toy, whereas for the books, i cut the shape out with scissors to show the smooth shape edges.
accidentally the pen i was using on the other side of the paper showed through onto my collage, and although we were not meant to add lines or detail, i think this adds to the collage piece, tying the motifs together. Happy Accident!
we were then asked to include bold medium and light into our compositions.
