progress surgery with matt.

key points from todays surgery:

  • make a blog post called 'critical incident' to evidence how i had a complete turn around with my concept idea - moving away from collective noun idea onto looking at just pigeons.

felt that the collective noun idea was not 'real' enough, and there was not much room for developing the  concept. it also did not focus on figures which is one of my strong points and what i enjoy to draw.

  • use criteria titles as headers on blog posts- this was i will be taking amount how and why the work i am evidencing is hitting all of the points listed on the criteria.
  • label all posts!
  • make sure my blog shows my creative journey -> what problems have i solved and how? what decisions have i made?
  • DONT BE AFRAID TO MAKE DRAMATIC/SENSITIVE OR BOLD CHOICES IN MY WORK.
  • mention how other artist work i am in to tends to be work that is dramatic - has bold decisions- e.g. leaves parts out of image or makes one part stand out with different media.
  • mention how this is something i used to do in the past- leave parts out of the drawing in fear that i would rein it if o carried on and finished it - also through boredom = could this be the reason why i like pieces of work that focus on sections and leave others blank?
