artist inspiration and developing media.

i like how this artist, Judith Van Den Hoek uses precise realistic details and combines it with outline blocked detail. i think this is a really clever way of giving the impression of a full/finished detail illustration without having to finish it....it leave it to your imagination to fill in the gaps. 
i find this is something i do unconsciously, sometimes when i produce drawings i leave parts unfinished because i worry that if i add more i will ruin it or it will loose it effect. i always thought it was a downfall to my practice, however after seeing this artists work, i could maybe use this as a positive and turn it into a technique. 

here i have do a quick sketch, adding detail to the important parts and leaving other parts as detailed shapes. i do not like this experiment as it was a quick example, however i do think this technique could be developed.
