group discussion with matt

we discussed our ideas with matt -
recreating a pointless add such as a jml advert including all the characteristics that we find 'pants' about adverts in general
  • cheesiness
  • bad lip reading
  • annoying jingle
  • patronising
  • misleading
  • etc
though he was supportive of our idea he addressed the issue of how we would create a giff which could hold all this information, and that this idea may be to complicated, and we may have given ourselves a lot to do.
this was a really good point, i think we had slightly gone of the track of what we needed to produce for the brief - a giff, i had it in my head it would be a sort of short film which is not what the brief is asking from us.

with the brief outcome in our heads we reviewed our idea and started to think of ways we could create a effective giff from our idea.

potential development idea involving pointless adverts

finding 'pants' adverts -buses, signs, posters, tv ads, magazines
  •  create a giff of us addresses how this advert is pants by adding sticky labels to the ad with the word 'pants' on it.
thinking visually developing sticky label idea.
  • using a speech bubble with the word pants in
  • creating a sign of a dog doing a poo and pointing it towards the ad
  • no communication sign.
a sign with a man with his pants down - visually communicated the word 'pants'

other ways to visually represent how the ad is 'pants'
  • drawing onto of the add in a humorous way (could take a photo of the ad and manipulate it on photoshop or by hand after it is printed out.
