development of initial ideas:
started of thinking about rein acting a advert we all thought was a good example of a 'pants' advert
eg- go compare adverts,
compare the market adverts - dressing up in meercat costumes.
we then moved on from this idea because we felt it wasn't exactly showing our point (that we thought it was pants) instead it just mocked the advert in a humours way.
we then thought about the type of adverts we thought were 'pants' such as ads that have nothing to do with the product they are selling. we thought we could develop on this idea, creating giffs that exaggerated this point. e.g. advertising tooth paste but having 2 people with really bad teeth in the picture.
however after thinking about this idea we thought about though the adverts may not make sense they still leave a impression in our heads and we still remember them for being pointless, therefore we remember the product which is linked to the pointless ad. also we discussed how actually we sometimes found that random adverts are sometimes entertaining and therefore we don't find them 'pants'
we also thought it would be hard to make a advert pointless without the product itself being pointless.
this then got us thinking of they type of product that are advertised that we thought were 'pants'
