composition, frame, overlapping.

initial sketches of butterfly, elephant and person.

at first i found it really hard to think of a variety of different compositions including all three elements. i ran out of idea! i think i was worrying to much to make sure the elements (butterfly elephant etc) were recognisable and were fully shown in the frame. i also struggled with the size difference of the elements such as the butterfly and the elephant, this made it hard to change the size of one without drastically changing the size of the other to make the scene look realistic. 

after talking to matt he pointed out that the whole of the elephant etc doesn't need to be shown, therefore i started drawings thumbs with just enough of the figures in to be recognisable.

i decided to use this idea as each figure is identifiable yet are not fully shown. i also like how the butterfly is in its full form and is the focal point even though it is the smallest of the figures.
