experimenting with colour

here i have played around with creating a gradient sroke fill (which james (the technician) showed me )of the cities flag colours to fill in the vector.

adding backgrounds to the line drawing
too dark-lines are not easily visible.

colours do not complement each other, and the lines are not bold enough next to this colour.

creating another gradient stoke fill without the white of the countries flag as they white colour is already present in the image. i think i prefer this fill in comparison to the first fill at the top of the page as it looks more complete, bold, and defines the shape of the building better.
white background- to plain, looks unfinished, unthought about.

creating colour swatch of the china flag and filling the building in.
feel this is too simple, bold and brash. a bit of a eye sore. i think the white background does not help its vividness, i think a coloured background could help calm it down.

this colour has calmed it down too much. the black is overpowering and blends into the red lines of the building vector so the shape is not easily visible.

above i have experimented with using a blue colour and blue is a calming colour and is one of the only colours i found to work with all 4 of my multicolour buildings. i.e. submerge the illustrations.

using the colour swatch to fill in the backgrounds.

below i have slightly changed the colour swatches of the french flag and the australian flag as they both us the same colour.
using the colour swatch of the french flat to fill in the building. for the french swatch i arranged the colour gradient in the order blue white red like the flag, for the australian flag colour swatch i arranged the colours in the order blue red white blue. because the majority of the flag is blue i added a extra blue section and made it cover the majority of the image.
