one of the main reasons i was leaning towards the dental brief is because i felt it would show clients a application brief that could be commercially viable as i was worried this side of my practice would not come through in my portfolio. however, Fred pointed out to me the other briefs i am doing show this - such as the wedding merchandise and documenting bradford.
reason discussed to go forward with the elderly brief:-
- gives me a purpose to investigate
- i could propose a certain function with my resolutions to show it can have an application (but this is not necessary)
- i have shown 'application' work in my other briefs
- this briefs give me a opportunity to do what i want…which is less likely to happen when i finish uni as i will not have the time to spend on a project for enjoyment when time is money.
- i can always create the dentist brief another time - as it doesn't require intensive or documented/invested research
