Adding textures digitally

for this illustration i wanted to communicate the royalty of the king, so other then using a crown i considered colours such as rich purples and blues as this are said to be royal colours. i also played around with adding textured patterns to the kings clothes. using patterns associated to royalty. i think this give the illustration depth and interesting detail. 

above i have experimented with the same technique for the princesses dress.
