i have used a rowing boat to represent the boat that lewis carroll told the story of alice in wonderland on to alice liddle, and i have randomly combined this with a 'river' of peanuts which links to the nursery rhyme 'found a peanut' he wrote, which has links to he's negative association with food in the lyrics. 

i have drawn out the image first in the etching technique i want to use  (different thicknesses of lines to show depth) this way i can easily follow the lines when i put the drawing underneath the clear plate.  

though my drawing was fairly straight forward lines, i did find it difficult to etch the thicker lines, it took a lot of perseverance.
